Refund Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This policy explains when The Tech Hut refunds Aisha subscription fees, and how refunds work for orders your customers place through Aisha. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
Two different things. The subscription fee is what you pay us to use Aisha. An order payment is what your customer pays you for goods. We can refund the first. The second is between you and your customer — see section 5.
1. The free trial exists so you can decide before paying
Every new account gets 7 days free, with no card or payment details required. Nothing is charged during the trial and it does not convert automatically — you only pay if you choose a plan and complete a payment.
We would rather you used the trial properly than paid and asked for the money back, so if anything is unclear during it, ask us and we will extend it.
2. Subscription fees and billing
Plans are KES 500/month (Starter) and KES 1,500/month (Pro), each covering a 30-day period. Payment is taken at the start of a period. We do not store your card details; payments are handled by our payment provider.
3. When we refund
We will refund a subscription payment in full where:
- You were charged in error — a duplicate payment, or a charge after you cancelled. Refunded in full, always.
- The Service was materially unavailable for a substantial part of a paid period through our fault. We refund pro rata for the affected days, or extend your period by the same amount if you prefer.
- You paid within the last 14 days and Aisha has not worked for you. If you paid for your first period and the Service did not do what we describe, tell us within 14 days of that payment and we will refund it in full. We would rather return the money than keep a customer who is not getting value.
4. When we generally don't refund
Outside the cases above we do not usually refund a period that has already run, because the Service was available and you had the trial to evaluate it. In particular:
- periods you simply did not use;
- outages caused by WhatsApp, your phone, your network or your device — including WhatsApp restricting or banning your number;
- dissatisfaction with the wording of AI-generated replies, which you can edit, disable or override;
- accounts suspended for breach of the Terms.
This is a default, not a wall. If your situation is genuinely unfair, write to us and say so — we read every message.
5. Refunding your own customers
When a customer pays for an order, that money is yours, not ours. If you need to refund a customer — wrong item, out of stock, a cancelled order — that refund is your responsibility and comes from your funds.
- If the money is still in your Aisha wallet, you can withdraw it (minimum KES 10) and refund the customer directly.
- If it has already been withdrawn, refund the customer by your usual means.
- We can help you locate the transaction and its reference, but The Tech Hut cannot reverse a payment made to you.
Payment provider fees already deducted on the original transaction are generally not recoverable, so a refunded order may cost you the fee. That is a function of how card and mobile-money processing works, not a charge by us.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period runs out. Your data remains available for export — see the Data Processing Agreement for retention and deletion.
7. How to ask, and how long it takes
Email us from your account address with the payment date and reference. We aim to reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or mobile-money provider.
Nothing here limits any right you have under Kenyan consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2012.
To request a refund, email info@thetechhut.co from the address on your account.
